Insurance

Rebecca Marlin Pet Care is insured and bonded by Business Insurers of the Carolinas. Business Insurers of the Carolinas has been providing General Liability specifically designed for pet sitters since 1995. Coverage includes:

· General Liability to protect against third party claims for bodily injury or property damage arising from negligence on behalf of Rebecca Marlin, Rebecca Marlin Pet Care employees or independent contractors.

· Care, Custody or Control provides coverage for the client's pets and client's personal property in Rebecca Marlin's care, custody or control. This also covers pets while in transport in a vehicle, pet taxi or other means. This policy covers all independent contractors, employees and volunteers. Veterinary medical expenses are also included in CCC Coverage and the policy pays claims regardless of the negligence/fault for accidental injuries to pets.

· Bonding to protect against dishonest acts committed by Rebecca Marlin, Rebecca Marlin Pet Care employees or independent contractors such as theft of property or money.

Membership

Rebecca Marlin is a member in good standing of Pet Sitters International (PSI), the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters. PSI is dedicated to educating professional pet sitters and promoting, supporting and recognizing excellence in pet sitting.

Certification

Rebecca Marlin is a Certified Professional Pet Sitter® through Pet Sitters International. 

To obtain and maintain the CPPS-Certified Professional Pet Sitter® designation, pet sitters must: 

• Successfully pass the CPPS Exam with a score of 80% or above

• Agree to adhere to PSI’s Recommended Quality Standards and Member Code of Conduct and Ethics, as noted in the PSI member and renewal applications

• Obtain a minimum of thirty (30) continuing education hours (CEUs) every three years and apply for the certification renewal
